On Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021, Augusto Perez stabbed Omar Cruz, a 64-year-old Albany, NY resident, to death behind the Ulta Beauty store in the Bergen Town Center mall in Maywood, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Muella said.
With his dying breath, Cruz identified his killer, as previously reported by Daily Voice.
Perez was arrested the next day, Musella said. Perez was convicted of aggravated manslaughter in April following a six-week trial, Musella said.
